Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2009!

Helen, Delaney & MariaCongratulations to the 111 members of the Class of 2009 who graduated Saturday, May 30, 2009!

The commencement address was given by beloved Biology teacher, frequent Haiti and West Texas trip leader and friend Johnny Wilson, who was recently named the first holder of The John D. Gerhart '61 Master Teaching Chair. Classmate Aidan Dean-Jones gave the senior address.

In additon to awarding diplomas, the school recognized senior academic accomplishments, announced senior Book Prize recipients and conferred special senior honors and awards, including memorial medals for exemplary achievement in theatre, performing arts, music, athletics and history/social sciences.

Three medals regarded with great esteem and affection by the St. Stephen's community were given to the following graduates:

  • Lucy Wagner - The Bishop John E. Hines Medal, awarded to the senior who has maintained the highest academic standing junior and senior years;
  • Adam Long - The Dobbie Leverton Fenton Medal, awarded to the student who lives life promoting the values of social justice; and
  • Delaney Ozmun - The William Brewster Medal, awarded to the senior who has made the greatest total contribution to the life of the school.
